77. Designing-Sewing-Crafting-Playing

Seventy seven sounds like a good number to begin again, again on!

So here goes...

I love creating!

Making clothes and gifts, crafting cards and journals, embellishing with an embroidered flourish and writing poetry and stories. These are the things that bring me joy.

I also love sharing all of this with others.

Sharing my unique clothing and accessory design with others.

Sharing my skills and knowledge so that others can feel the sense of accomplishment that comes from looking at a completed project that they created with their mind and their hands.

The feeling they get when someone comments on their outfit that they designed and made themself, knowing that the quality is better than the similar outfits in the stores with a much higher price tag.

The joy of watching someone open a gift that was created especially with the recipient in mind.

The gathering of like minded people learning new skills and enjoying one another's company for an afternoon.

This, to me, is a delight!

I especially love all this when it involves up-cycling, recycling and using what I have.

Some of you already receive my newsletter so you have a sense of what I have on offer, but I wanted to put it into this blog format on my website as well.

So here it is:

An online store for some of my handmade garments and accessories.

Some online classes

A blog that I hope to begin writing again.

A studio shopfront containing all of my handmade garments and accessories, as well as handmade arts and crafts from other local makers.

In studio classes including - Simple Sewing and Dressmaking (all skill levels are welcome)

Times available for private design and sewing lessons

The Hunter Valley Literary, Cake and Flower Society

Things I would love to add to this are:

Drawing Club - I will provide morning tea, materials and inspiration

Journal making - from sheets of paper to stitched journals, then adding embellishments

Hand Stitch Embroidery - first project is almost ready to go

So if you, like me love to create and make, love to save money and the planet in our own small way by repairing, remaking and upcycling, and love to find new like minded friends in a fun, safe and creative environment, book into a class or pop in to the studio. Some classes are listed in my Events page, and others, and any enquiries can be made via my email suzzimaggs@gmail.com or by commenting on this post.

If you live further afield, please feel free to contact me about having a gathering/class as part of your weekend away in the Hunter Valley.

The SuzziMaggs Studio is situated at 25 Ferguson St, Cessnock 2325 (at the end of the driveway)

Opening times are Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 2pm or by appointment.

Thank you for reading, I appreciate you,

Love,

Suzanne
